Upload and index documents

Upload a file

Open Knowledge, select a base, and choose Upload document. Studio supports PDF, Word, and Excel documents.

Before uploading:

• Remove duplicate versions.
• Use descriptive titles and headings.
• Confirm that the text is selectable.
• Split very long documents or documents covering unrelated subjects.

Wait for indexing

Uploading does not make a file available immediately. It must reach the Indexed status before you test it with an agent.

Do not upload passwords, API keys, or information the agent should not process.
