Write instructions for spoken responses
Adapt agent style for clear, natural responses when heard.
Updated August 3, 2026 Β· 8 minPrioritize listening
Use short sentences, one idea per sentence, and simple structure.
Respond in natural, direct language. Lead with the conclusion and provide only
necessary detail. Avoid tables and long lists when the answer may be heard.
Handle difficult data
Define how to communicate figures, dates, acronyms, emails, and URLs. Offer to show long addresses in writing rather than spelling every character.
Keep responses manageable
Summarize first and ask whether the user wants full steps before lengthy explanations.
Preserve consistent behavior
Voice has no separate instructions. Changes also affect written responses, so test both formats.
