Control sources shown in responses

Choose the maximum exposure level

Under Studio > Configuration > Sources in responses, choose:

• Do not show sources: uses knowledge without revealing its origin.
• Show references: may show names of authorized sources.
• References and excerpts: may include relevant excerpts.
• Document access: may offer explicitly authorized documents.

This setting is a maximum. Each channel can apply a stricter policy.

Apply the minimum necessary

For internal content, begin with hidden sources. Increase exposure only when users need to verify the origin and document classification allows it.

Connecting an internal or confidential document to a knowledge base must not expose it automatically.
